# toggleSortField

## Overview

Flip the direction of `base` in place within the sort order. No-op (returns a copy) when
`base` is absent; other entries keep their position and direction.

## Signature

`toggleSortField(sorted, base)`

### Parameters

| <span id="param-base">base</span> | `string` | yes | The base field name to toggle. |
